I’m a big fan of The Muppets, and pretty much all things Henson. I loved the TV show and the movies when I was younger, and continue to enjoy them as an adult. The lastest movie, championed by Jason Segel, was great. Their acceptance of all things strange and unusual, and their proclivity for music of all styles really resonated with my as a child. I mean The Muppets gave us Marvin Suggs and his Muppaphone, the perfect combination of strange, unusual, and music.
I’ve been a fan of Queen for almost as long as I have been a fan of The Muppets. The radio hits enticed me growing up. I’d never heard a band that had such diverse subject matter. I mean bicycles, fat bottomed girls, being champions, and it was full of pianos, and guitar solos, and amazing-never-before-heard-mind-blowing vocals. On top of all that there was Bohemian Rhapsody, this over the top, nothing else sounds like it, pinnacle of Rock and Roll accomplishment. I can’t begin to count the number of times I’ve heard Bohemian Rhapsody, but it never gets old and I never get tired of hearing it.
It’s just too perfect, The Muppets covering Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. They’re both such unique ideas on their own, and they’re both a little strange, and they both rock. It seems like such a natural combination too. I remember when I first saw it I thought to myself, “that makes sense.” Please enjoy the link below.
